PLA non-woven fabric is a new type of bio-based material which are derived from renewable resources like corn starch, potatoes or sugarcane.
In spunbonding process, fabrics are produced directly from a thermoplastic polymer such as polyester, nylon, polypropylene, or polyethylene, bio-polymer.
The molten polymer is extruded through a spinneret, cooled slightly in the air, and laid on a moving conveyor belt to form a continuous web.
It has good uniformity, excellent drape, smoothness, air permeability, natural antibacterial properties, good skin affinity, and UV resistance.
Especially highlight feature: biodegradability. PLA can be decomposed by microorganisms into CO2,H2O, biomass and leave no harmful residues.

Application: PLA non-woven fabric is an ideal material for tea bags, coffee filter paper, and other food-grade packaging due to its excellent biocompatibility, biodegradability, and safety for food contact.
Although PLA nonwoven fabric is bio-based material but properties still adapt to requirement of strength, resilience,… so it can be applied in some variety of fields.
