
🔍 It is not uncommon for a nonwoven fabric lot to pass incoming quality inspection and yet create unexpected issues once production begins. Wipes may tear more easily, line stability may decrease, or defect rates may gradually increase—even though the material has been approved according to specification.
This does not necessarily mean the material is defective.
💡 In many cases, the differences between production lots are too subtle to be classified as out of specification. However, slight variations in surface structure, texture, or material consistency can still influence production performance, particularly on high-speed wet wipes converting lines.
For this reason, many manufacturers perform one additional check before introducing a new lot into production.
🎯 The objective is not to determine whether the material passes or fails quality inspection. Instead, it is to identify minor lot-to-lot variations early, enabling production and QA teams to monitor the process more closely and respond proactively if needed.
Typical observations include:
✔ Surface uniformity across the fabric.
✔ Visual appearance and hand feel compared with the previous production lot.
✔ Roll consistency during unwinding.
✔ Any visible signs of damage caused by handling, transportation, or storage.
While these differences may not affect incoming inspection results, they can influence process stability, especially during extended production runs or high-speed operations.
