On December 8, the event “Meet Ambassador Ngô Hướng Nam” took place in the Netherlands, organized by the Embassy of Vietnam in the Netherlands and the Dutch Business Association in Vietnam (DBAV). The event’s theme revolved around “EVFTA: Trade growth after 3 years of implementing the agreement and EVIPA: A solid foundation for cooperation and investment activities of Dutch businesses in Vietnam.”
This year’s event was eagerly anticipated by all attendees as it marked the official first meeting of Ambassador Ngô Hướng Nam with the business community of both countries.
Ambassador Ngô Hướng Nam hosted an official meeting with the Vietnamese and Dutch business communities, an event highly anticipated and esteemed. The meeting saw diverse participation from key partners such as the Chairman of the European Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam (EuroCham), representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO), the Netherlands Enterprise Support Center (NLinBusiness), and the Netherlands Senior Experts (PUM). Additionally, representatives from over 50 Dutch businesses operating in Vietnam and Vietnamese businesses investing in the Netherlands were present.

During the meeting, Ambassador Ngô Hướng Nam summarized important events in the relationship between the two countries in 2023, commemorating 50 years of diplomatic relations. Ms. Lai Nguyễn not only expressed strong support for crucial agreements like EVFTA and EVIPA but also praised the bilateral trade growth, reaching USD 11.1 billion in 2022. The event provided an opportunity for businesses to express their views, share experiences, and propose specific directions to enhance cooperation between the two countries.
